I'm getting married for the second time on July 4th, giving up my independence!! I was trying to think of ways to incorporate our 4 young children and your sight has given me lots of fantastic ideas. In fact, I'm going to incorporate lots of things, facing the guests, bubbles, crystals. Even thinking of photography, I'm now going to move the alter (civil ceremony in a hotel) so the light will be facing us rather than behind us. This is the most comprehensive wedding site I have seen. It is very helpful even for those of us who do not live in Illinois (I was born in Springfield, Il !!) You should consider writing a book. Your suggestions are so detailed and informative, I am sure you have many more ideas from your experiences. One thing we are looking for are ethnic traditions from our heritage, i.e. German, Portuguese, etc. to add to the ceremony much like the breaking of the glass in Jewish ceremonies. Any suggestions you observe would be an interesting addtion to your site (or book!).

I just want to tell you that I heard about your site from a friend of mine whose wedding I was in last year. There were several personalized aspects of her wedding that everyone really enjoyed (facing the audience, have the groom meet her and her father halfway) so when I got engaged, I asked here where she got those ideas from. She told me it was from this website. Before I visited your web page, I felt lost and confused. After visiting your site, I wish you were in Boston. Your ideas and suggestions have been the most helpful for me in just figuring out the order of a ceremony and what things should/could take place during it. Since my fiance and I are of different religions (I am Muslim, he is Christian) the section on interfaith marriage was also very insightful. I love the sample readings you have listed as well.
